Universal implementation, adjustable in three dimensions, CE approved - all of that is completely standard for a Hahn hinge. The hinge experts from Dr. Hahn have now released something that is completely new: Hahn Door Hinge 4 with innovative anchor screw.

Innovative hinge mounting

"Quicker mounting means more efficient assembly" is the philosophy with which door manufacturers are supposed to achieve greater profitable efficiency. Instead of using a mounting plate, the new Door Hinge 4 is screwed directly to the section with the aid of an anchor screw. This process is suited for almost every major insulated system profile sections. Soon, it will no longer be necessary to bridge the insulating chambers using spacer bushings. The anchor screw prevents the chambers from becoming deformed.

After receiving positive market experience with the Hahn screw anchor, which has become in many cases the standard for mounting hinges, direct mounting with a special screw seems like the logical trend. To this end, the anchor screw possesses the same excellent draw-out values as the screw anchor. A wall thickness of 1.6 mm is required.

Optimised for all fields

In many aspects, the Door Hinge 4 represents an improvement over its predecessor. Both the two-piece and three-piece hinges can be adjusted in six directions: Horizontal +/- 2.5 mm variable, vertical +3/-2 mm variable, sealing pressure +/- 0.5 mm. Moreover, all adjustments can be made with doors still mounted and by one person, even in case of heavy doors.

Both hinges are pre-assembled for the most part. The three-piece variation is especially convenient, since it was already set to the zero position in the factory. Covers that snap in place represent another contribution to speeding up processing in workshops and on building sites.

Since this new hinge is frequently installed on industrial and commercial doors or so-called mandated areas smoke, fire safety and escape doors, CE certification is an absolute must. Corresponding tests are currently underway.

Elegant and versatile

The design of the hinge is based on the so-called hinge curl. Its rolling contours lend solid hinges, which are constructed using extruded aluminium, their visual charm. Depending on section design and application, the standard hinges are able to support doors weighing up to 220 kg.

The hinge system offers a wide variety of possible combinations based on "The perfect solution for every situation" with doors opening inwards or outwards, with reversible profile or even corner post constructions. It is especially suited for extreme installation widths, doors with narrow frames or even with flexible sections. When it comes to folding doors and anti-burglar doors, door manufacturers are well advised to give the new Hahn Door Hinge a try.

Installation drawings as special service

Depending on the section systems which are to be taken care of, threaded anchors come in a wide variety of different lengths. Door manufacturers get from Dr. Hahn the corresponding installation drawings and mounting tips via e-mail. Existing drilling jigs for the Door Hind 3 series may also be used for these hinges. The mounting plate is still the means of choice for a single chamber section or special requirements. Trial installation in workshops and requests for training sessions to be implemented by Dr. Hahn round out the service package.
