New Solution for Mounting Hinges on PVC-U Doors
Align just once, fixed for good
The stiffness of the section members decreases due to the increased demands on the thermal insulation performance of the profile sections. The consequence for mounting door hinges is that a tight fit between the hinge blades and profile section can only be achieved through additional effort in the form of supporting screws or shimming. And buckling profile sections are very common even with medium tightening torques. With regard to the current circumstances involving profile design, it is no longer sufficient to secure door hinges by means of surface pressure alone, and that applies not only to heavy doors.
New! Hahn Hinges with KT-FIX
KT-FIX is the name of the latest innovation. Here FIX stands for really fast and secure. The underlying idea is quite simple actually: To achieve a secure hinge fit, even with high prechambers, special metal pins are used to bridge the area between section surface and steel reinforcement and /or section claddings; processing is for the most part the same as what you are used to.
Forget buckling profile sections
Special metal pins provide additional stability and are more effective for preventing the door leaf from pitching – even after a million opening cycles under the most unfavourable conditions. The buckling of profile sections with KT-FIX is eliminated thanks to sophisticated geometry.
The KT-FIX mounting solution is suited mainly for hinges of the Hahn KT-N 6R and Hahn KT-V 6R series, which can support doors weighing up to 160 kg depending on the design of the profile sections.
Additional benefit without additional expenditure
It is not only its suitability for doors in residential and commercial buildings that makes the KT-FIX interesting for door makers. Due to its almost completely preassembled mounting parts in the door hinge blade and less boreholes, KT-FIX reduces installation time and saves money in the end.
